Rain, rain, go away

This week has been unusually moist.  And we had a lot of outdoor activities planned.  Go figure.  First, we hit the Highland splash park:

It may look like we had lots of fun (and we did) but it started pouring about 15 minutes after we arrived. The kids were less than thrilled to go home.

This weekend was also our ward's camp-out.  We don't own sleeping bags (or a tent for that matter) so we were happy that the location was close enough for us to go to during the day and go back home at night.  I love camping that allows me to sleep in my own nice, warm, and bug-free bed!

While the kids played water games (in the rain no less), Eli and I snuck off to get some lunch.  I have a sensitive stomach, and the camping food wasn't agreeing with me as much as I would have liked.

Eli loves Miso soup.

And I love that my kids aren't picky eaters.  He ate soup and a few bites of my sushi roll.

We returned to camp and just enjoyed visiting with everyone.  Dinner was fabulous.  They roasted a pig in a pit.  The kids really enjoyed the pork on buns.  Yum!  We ran back home just before it started raining again.

I hope everyone else's weekend was good!

It looks like fun despite the rains. You can send some our way.

I had no idea Highland had a splash park! Good grief. I need to look into that, if it warms back up ;) I think it is so cool that your ward still does campouts. Ours doesn't. I think it would be a ton of fun! I really like the idea of driving home at night too ;)

Send the rain here! We/re had an incredibly hot and dry summer, and even trees are starting to die. Very depressing. It doesn't look like the kiddos were bothered by a little rain.
