Friday Night Sew-in
I had been very excited about the Friday Night Sew-In (any excuse, right?) but I almost didn't make it! My husband was playing a benefit for Haiti tonight, which left me free to spend the entire night in front of my machine without guilt. I tucked the kids in bed, put on my favorite pjs, and started laying out the supplies. And then the baby was crying. Fresh diaper and I'm back to sewing. Then the baby woke up again. Grrrr.... doesn't he know mommy wants to sew? So we end up watching television until he falls asleep. I repeated this process a total of four times. But somehow I actually managed to get a bit done. The two holiday wall hangings I started from scratch and now they just need to be quilted. The flower wall hanging was already pieced but I finished most of the needle turn applique. I can't believe how much I actually got accomplished. And now I have two more projects crossed off my list and can buy more guilt free!

Hi Jandi,
your sew-in sounds quiet a bit stressfull. But your work looks great. I love your flower wall hanging.

Love the flower table runner.. great job on the sew in.. I didn't even get in my sewing room, but we are headed to HI next week so I've been wrapping up loose ends!
Love the table runner. It's so bright and springy! I remember those days when my little ones would go to bed so well, my husband would be away on business and I would think I would have so much time to sew or craft......and then, well, ..... you know! LOL! I wanted to send you an e-mail but there is no link in your profile. I noticed that you are from Lehi and a couple of years ago my brother brought me a cookbook from Lehi. That's because we are from Lehigh, Iowa. :-) I was wondering if you had noticed that Stitches is mispelled in your new blog header? That's what I was going to e-mail you about. I used to have to proofread when I worked at a large computer company so it caught my eye.
Glad to hear you were able to be part of the Friday Night Sew In. Your applique flower is lovely! I'm sure it doesn't seem like it now, but children really do grow so fast. My "baby" is getting married in a few months and I miss having the kids live at home.
I am so in love with your flower wall hanging! I just came over to check out your giveaway and then I saw this!!! It is so beautiful and would look really great in my sewing room...I just might have to copy you (if you don't mind!!) ;)
